Money (Part 2): Giving to the local church

Acts 2:42-47 & 4:32

Why did the early church acts so radically when it came to giving? Because they recognised giving is at the heart of the gospel (Jesus became poor so that we could become rich). The gospel should change us personally (they gave with glad and generous hearts), form us corporately (great grace was upon them), and motivate us missionally (the Lord added to them daily those who were being saved).

Who do we give to? 1) The church to fulfil the work of ministry both locally and missionally; 2)The poor and marginalised; and 3) Fund building projects.

How do we give? 1) Regularly; 2) Generously; and 3) Cheerfully
