The murder of George Floyd

Hello everyone, we're aware that last week at church we didn't say anything about the murder of George Floyd, but it has been very much on our minds and prayers as an office team.

Like all of you, I've been deeply saddened and shocked by the racist murder of George Floyd and wanted to post something on here, but as someone who is both white and middle class, I didn't really know what to say as I know I can't ever properly understand the injustice that he faced and that happens every day.

But I know that I also have a responsibility to speak out against injustice. It's clear that we need more of God's justice in this world - let's pray for George Floyd's family and friends as they grieve, and for all those faced with racial injustice.

This is an excellent talk from Tope Koleoso, who has both the right and ability to express things far better than me. I love the line that says 'injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere." I'd encourage you all to watch it. (As Tope mentions, not suitable for children to listen to) https://youtu.be/6XZx0BeqOAY
